This year marked the beginning of a new direction for me. Previously, the majority of my work focused on drifting for EverythingDrift.com. After stepping away from that role, I began carving my own path across the wider motorsport world, while continuing to work with the incredible network of clients I had built over the years.
UK Drift Championship
The drift scene evolved significantly in recent years, with events during COVID reshaping the landscape. What was once Driftcup developed into a true rival championship at the top level of UK drifting rather than a feeder series. Although the championship name changed to the UK Drift Championship, I continued working with many of the same fantastic people and teams.

Britcar Endurance Championship
I also began working with several teams in the Britcar Endurance Championship. It’s an exciting series featuring a diverse grid, from GT3 machinery to Clio Cup cars sharing the same track. Drivers range from club-level amateurs to paid professionals competing at international level, creating a fantastic mix of competition and racing styles.

Donington Park Test Days
Donington Park is one of the closest circuits to my home, so I made a point of visiting as often as possible. This included weekday Unsilenced Test Days, as well as championship test sessions such as the British GT Championship and TOCA support categories. Regular track time there allowed me to refine my craft in a familiar environment.

Teesside Autodrome
I began working closely with Teesside Autodrome, covering a wide variety of events including karting, drifting, car testing, and motorcycle racing. It’s an incredibly busy venue with a brilliant atmosphere, and the energy around the paddock makes every event enjoyable to shoot.

GT World Challenge
When the GT World Challenge visited the UK in 2021, it was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up.

Shooting at Brands Hatch always presents iconic compositions, particularly the classic view as cars climb from Paddock Hill Bend toward Druids. In this case, the shot had an added element of drama, the car had just emerged from a trip through the gravel trap, giving a slightly different twist to a well-known angle.

DriftMatsuri
The return of DriftMatsuri after a cancelled event during COVID was a standout moment. The event featured incredible Japanese machinery, European saloons, and even cars you wouldn’t typically expect to see drifting. With two days of action, a night demonstration, and a relaxed paddock atmosphere, it remains one of the best events of the year. I’m proud to be the official photographer.

Other Events
I also attended several events outside of regular work, simply because I enjoy the creative challenge of shooting something different. This included F1 Stock Cars, motocross racing on the beach at Skegness, and a rally event at Cadwell Park.

What a journey the first two years of pursuing my dream of becoming a full-time photographer and videographer have been. It has been fast-paced, challenging, and incredibly rewarding.
